- Dubai College entrance assessment
One adaptive online assessment of about two hours in English, mathematics and non-verbal reasoning, as the school describes it in its public information.
Who sits it: Children applying for Year 7 at Dubai College.
- CAT4
A cognitive abilities test used by many schools, with verbal, quantitative, non-verbal and spatial reasoning. Several UAE schools select with it, and Dubai College asks for CAT4 results. Its publisher advises against practising for it, so anything we offer will be familiarisation with the on-screen format only.
Who sits it: Pupils in many British-curriculum schools, in the UK and abroad.
- GL 11+
The 11+ papers used for grammar school selection in a number of areas of England, in English, mathematics, verbal and non-verbal reasoning.
Who sits it: Children sitting 11+ selection in areas of England that use GL papers.
- CEM 11+ (Cambridge Select Insight)
CEM's selection test is now published under the name Cambridge Select Insight and, by public reports, is used mainly by independent schools; most grammar school areas that used CEM papers have moved to other tests.
Who sits it: Children applying to independent schools that use the former CEM selection test.
- ISEB Common Pre-Test
A shared, adaptive online pre-test used by many UK independent senior schools, in English, mathematics, verbal and non-verbal reasoning. A child sits it once a year and the results go to each school applied to.
Who sits it: Children applying to many UK independent senior schools, usually in Year 6 or 7.
